Tips for a potluck
- Add the bananas last. Sliced banana browns once it meets the air, so slice and fold it in just before you serve. If you have to travel, carry the bananas whole and slice them on arrival.
- Keep it cold. Whipped topping and yogurt soften quickly on a warm buffet table. Set the bowl inside a larger bowl of ice for outdoor gatherings.
- Dry the strawberries well after washing. Wet berries water down the creamy dressing.
- Swaps: blueberries, raspberries or grapes work alongside or instead of strawberries. Vanilla yogurt works if strawberry isn’t on hand.
- Leftovers: it is best on the day it’s made. It keeps covered in the fridge for about a day, but it gets runnier and the bananas darken. It doesn’t freeze well.
