Hi — I’m Gabriela, and I’ve been running Love Cooking Daily since 2015.
Let me be straightforward about what this site is, because a lot of recipe sites are vague about
it and I’d rather not be. I’m not a recipe developer. I’m a mother who cooks for her family
every day, and who spends a great deal of time looking for recipes worth making. This site
is where I keep the ones that are.
What Love Cooking Daily actually is
It’s a recipe magazine. I find good home cooking from other cooks, bloggers and creators, I try
the ones my family will eat, and I send you to the person who created them.
You’ll notice I don’t wrap every recipe in a story about a farmhouse kitchen or a grandmother’s
secret method. Some of those stories are true. Many are written to fill space above a recipe that
came from somewhere else. I’d rather just tell you where something came from and link to it.
Cooking became a serious interest for me when I had a family to feed — not before. That’s the
honest version. What I’m good at isn’t inventing recipes; it’s knowing, after ten years and a lot
of weeknight dinners, which ones will actually work at six o’clock on a Tuesday when everyone is
hungry and nothing has been planned.
The one page here with my own photographs
Marry Me Chicken is the
exception, though not in the way you might expect. The recipe still isn’t mine — it
belongs to the cook credited on the page. But I cooked it at home so I could photograph it myself,
which makes it the one page on this site where the pictures are mine rather than borrowed, and where
the notes come from standing over the pan instead of reading about it.
How a recipe gets onto this site
This is the part that matters most, and it’s the part most sites don’t publish.
Where recipes come from. Other cooks, bloggers and creators. Every recipe I
feature credits its source and links to the original. If you want the full method, that link takes
you to the person who wrote it — that’s the purpose of the page, not a courtesy. The full details
are on our curation policy page.
What gets in. Recipes a real family will actually cook on a weeknight:
ingredients you can buy in an ordinary shop, steps that don’t assume equipment most kitchens don’t
have, and methods that hold up when you’re tired. Most of what I look at doesn’t make it.
What doesn’t. Recipes with unexplained steps, ingredient lists that don’t match
the method, timings that are plainly wrong, and anything whose source I can’t identify.
Collections are edited, not scraped. When you read something here like
“14 pasta salads for a potluck,” those fourteen were chosen out of a much larger pile, ordered
deliberately, and written up so you can tell them apart without opening all fourteen tabs. The
editing is the work, and it’s what I’m actually offering you.
Corrections. If something here is wrong, tell me and I’ll fix it rather than
quietly delete it. That email gets read.
What’s on the site
- Dinner — the backbone. Sheet pan meals, slow cooker dinners, one-pan chicken, and the rescues for nights when nothing was planned.
- Desserts and appetizers — the holiday and potluck end of things.
- Breakfast & brunch, salads, soups and smoothies — the everyday rotation.
- Coffee & tea — brewing methods and the questions people actually search for.
- Tips & techniques — how to poach an egg that holds together, how long a turkey really needs, what to do with herbs so they last the week.
Who I am
I’m Gabriela. I write from Romania, I’ve been publishing online since 2015, and Love
Cooking Daily is one of a few sites I run. I cook dinner at home most nights — which is where my
sense of what’s worth publishing comes from, even though the recipes themselves belong to other
people.
Everything on this site is chosen and edited by me. You can see what I’ve published on my
author page.
Say hello
Corrections, suggestions, a recipe you think belongs here, or a request to be credited
differently — write to me at
info@lovecookingdaily.com or through the
contact page.
If you’re a creator and something of yours appears here that you’d rather I removed, say so and
I’ll take it down. No argument.
You can also find us on Facebook
and YouTube.
